Guarani FC was one of the first teams to have a women’s soccer team in Brazil. In 1983, when the “Conselho Nacional de Desportos” (CND) decided to approve this physical activity for women, the Guarani FC had organized internal futsal tournaments for its associates already. Soon they organized a team for competition. The women’s soccer team from Guarani FC participated in the first tournaments organized in the Campinas region. Also, in December of 1983, Guarani FC was the champion of the first Women Championship Tournament held in Campinas in history, organized by the “Liga Campineira de Futebol”.  In the following year, Guarani was the runner-up beaten by XV de Piracicaba for the championship. By the end of 1984, even with a victorious team, their women’s soccer team was practically extinct, remaining only in the internal matches.

It was hard to reorganize a competitive women’s soccer team. Thus, in March of 1991, they decided to first build their youth teams, something still nonexistent in Brazil. A few months later, with a successful team, the girls from Guarani transferred to Saad EC. However, the managers and some players remained at Guarani. Campinas had the first championship for youth girls in the whole country.  Soon, the São Paulo Futsal Federation and other leagues followed.

In June of 1995, the athletic staff from Guarani of 1991, came back, followed by fourteen girls who also decided to leave the Saad squad. This was a new start for Guarani. In few months the girls from Guarani were able to make themselves part of soccer history in Campinas, Sao Paulo state, and even for the entire country of Brazil.

In the beginning, three different youth teams were formed for the futsal tournaments. The same groups that use to play futsal, also played outdoor. Soon, the team captured many trophies. After only 15 years from the restart, the soccer players from Guarani have accumulated more than 280 trophies.

Guarani has more than 50 players, between the ages of 12 and 19 years. Nowadays, they have the under-13, under-15, under-17 and under-20 team.

Through all these years, Guarani has won many important tournaments, such as; winning three straight State Tournament Championships for the under-15 division in 96, 97, and 98, State Champion under-18 in 1996, twice capturing the regional championship in 1998 and 2000, followed by owning four regional championships in a row in 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2005 (with the senior team), National Champion for under-14 in 2000, State Champion under-17 in 2004, State Champion under-18 in 2005, and State Champion under-15 in 2005.

Guarani has the most trophies in the history of futsal in Campinas. At the São Paulo Futsal Federation, Guarani has won many tournaments with teams from different ages. Representing Campinas, the Guarani soccer players have won the “Jogos Abertos da Juventude” under-18 twice, in 2006/07 and "Jogos Regionais 2008". The under-15 team won the most prestigious tournament in 2007, when they won the Futsal National Championship.

In 2001 Guarani decided to participate for the first time in the women soccer tournament in São Paulo state. Despite being the youngest team in the competition, they qualified all the way to the semifinals. In that year 7 players from Guarani were selected to join the Brazilian under-19 National Team.

The youth team from Guarani is well known internationally as one of the best in Brazil. Many teams that visit our country, come to Campinas to play against Guarani. These ladies have done an amazing job the three times they had an opportunity to go to the United States. Guarani was the first Brazilian youth women’s soccer team to win an international championship. It was in Utah, 1997. Also, Guarani was the champion of the first South America futsal tournament, held in Chile in 2001. In 2006, once more, Guarani was the champion back in US (Florida) with the under-15 and under-17 teams.

The discipline and the technique of these Brazilians has become an example to be followed for several other teams. With this, along with their individual technique, and their behavior outside the playing field, many players have attracted the attention of Colleges and Universities in North America.  Many institutions know they can find at Guarani, athletes with the capacity to strengthen their teams. It is a great chance for these Brazilian players to develop their studies through scholarships from these Schools.  In the past 10 years, 22 soccer players from Guarani have received scholarships to play in the US. Many of them have gone on and already concluded their Masters Degrees, and entered the work market successfully. It is the sport collaborating for the complete formation of the human being, and Guarani giving back to its local community.
