The youth team from Guarani is well known internationally as one of the best
in Brazil. Many teams that visit our country, come to Campinas to play
against Guarani. These ladies have done an amazing job the three times they
had an opportunity to go to the United States. Guarani was the first
Brazilian youth women’s soccer team to win an international championship. It
was in Utah, 1997. Also, Guarani was the champion of the first South America
futsal tournament, held in Chile in 2001. In 2006, once more, Guarani was
the champion back in US (Florida) with the under-15 and under-17 teams. |

The
discipline and the technique of these Brazilians has become an example to be
followed for several other teams. With this, along with their individual
technique, and their behavior outside the playing field, many players have
attracted the attention of Colleges and Universities in North America. Many
institutions know they can find at Guarani, athletes with the capacity to
strengthen their teams. It is a great chance for these Brazilian players to
develop their studies through scholarships from these Schools. In the past
10 years, 22 soccer players from Guarani have received scholarships to play
in the US. Many of them have gone on and already concluded their Masters
Degrees, and entered the work market successfully. It is the sport
collaborating for the complete formation of the human being, and Guarani
giving back to its local community. |
